A Quick Look at ATE

We are Porsche brake and acceleration experts at the same time, because we have been energising the market, launching technological innovations and accompanying the automotive industry in the role of a development partner for many years. And we have no plans to do anything other than that. From the hydraulic brake to ABS, ATE has enriched the market from the outset with pioneering developments – and it will continue to do so.

Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche

Where ATE is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.

  • Typical reasons to choose these braking components include restoring OE-level feel and reliability, and maintaining predictable pedal response for daily and spirited Porsche driving.
  • Common real-world issues addressed include brake squeal, vibration, long pedal from old fluid, uneven wear from sticking calipers and corrosion-related problems on discs and lines.
  • If you experience brake vibration, also inspect hubs and wheel torque, as many “warped disc” complaints are actually uneven pad deposits or mounting issues.
  • Change brake fluid at sensible intervals to prevent a long, spongy pedal and reduced braking performance.

Browse by Category

If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.

Brakes — Brake components are renewed to restore stopping performance, address wear or upgrade a Porsche for fast road or track use. Common symptoms include vibration under braking, increased stopping distances, squealing, pulling to one side, warning lights and visible wear to discs and pads.

  • Check if discs, pads and wear sensors should be replaced together, and whether fitting kits are included.
  • Follow the bedding-in procedure recommended for the chosen pads and discs.

Brake Calipers — Brake calipers are replaced or upgraded when originals seize, leak or when increasing braking performance with larger multi-piston units. Symptoms include uneven pad wear, sticking pistons, fluid leaks around seals, a soft pedal and pulling under braking.

  • Confirm whether calipers are new, remanufactured or upgrade units, and if pads or mounting hardware are included.
  • Check wheel size and clearance requirements before choosing larger performance calipers.

Caliper Seals |Pistons — Caliper seals and pistons are renewed when refurbishing calipers to prevent leaks and sticking pistons. Issues include fluid leaks, seized pistons, uneven pad wear and dust boots that are torn or missing.

  • Verify which caliper models each kit suits and whether it covers one caliper or an axle set.
  • Use correct assembly grease and follow torque and bleed instructions where supplied.

Brake Master Cylinder — The master cylinder is replaced when internal seals fail, causing fluid leaks or a sinking brake pedal. Common signs include a spongy pedal, loss of pressure when holding the pedal and fluid leaks at the rear of the cylinder.

  • Check if the cylinder specification matches ABS/PSM requirements for your Porsche.
  • Confirm whether bench-bleeding is recommended before installation.

Brake Fluid — Brake fluid is changed regularly to maintain boiling point and corrosion protection within the braking system. Old fluid absorbs moisture, reducing boiling point and leading to pedal fade, internal corrosion and sticky components.

  • Choose a DOT rating that matches Porsche’s specification and your intended use, whether road, track or both.
  • Avoid mixing incompatible fluid types and follow change intervals suited to your driving style.
