Retro Line
Retro Line for Porsche
Retro Line parts for Porsche at Design911 focus on interior and exterior details that keep a period-correct look while subtly updating usability, comfort, and style
A Quick Look at Retro Line
Information about Retro Line on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.
Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche
Where Retro Line is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.
- Typical reasons to choose Retro Line include refreshing faded trim, updating small details and building a sympathetic restomod that still looks in keeping with a classic Porsche.
- Common issues when changing these parts include faded finishes, cracked plastics, rattles, and fitment differences between model years, often made worse by reusing old clips and fixings.
- Confirm your exact model year and interior or exterior layout before ordering, as small design changes between generations can affect how well parts fit.
- Many upgrades are designed to blend in visually and can usually be reversed later if you keep your original Porsche parts and hardware.
Browse by Category
If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.
Accessories — Porsche accessories are typically chosen to add practicality, comfort or a personal touch, from storage and mounts to subtle styling pieces; where Retro Line options are offered, they aim to complement the factory interior and trim rather than look out of place.
- Check whether accessories need drilling or permanent modification, and whether they can later be removed without marks.
- Always confirm compatibility with your specific Porsche model, interior type and any factory options before ordering.
Badges & Emblems — Badges and emblems are often refreshed to replace faded, chipped or missing items and to fine-tune the exterior look; Retro Line pieces in this area are intended to sit comfortably alongside original Porsche styling.
- Confirm how a badge is fixed (adhesive, clips or pins) and whether it matches the original mounting points on your Porsche.
- Take time to remove old adhesive carefully to avoid scratching surrounding paint or trim.
Rear / Boot lid Badges — Rear boot-lid badges help define the identity of your Porsche; replacements are fitted when original lettering has faded, lost chrome or been disturbed during paintwork or repairs.
- Check whether new badges are supplied as individual letters or a complete script, and whether templates or tape are included for alignment.
- Ensure old adhesive is fully removed and the surface is clean so the new badge sits level and adheres correctly.
Side Decals / Badges — Side decals and badges allow owners to add period script, model names or stripes, or to replace graphics that have shrunk, peeled or discoloured over time.
- Confirm that the decal kit is sized for your specific Porsche body shape and that fitting instructions or guides are followed.
- Good surface preparation helps prevent edge lifting, bubbles and trapped dirt that can mark the paint underneath.
Exterior Styling / Spoilers — Exterior styling and spoilers are changed to update the look, improve aerodynamics or follow a particular Porsche theme; Retro Line parts in this area are generally chosen to give a heritage-inspired appearance while working with existing body lines.
- Many spoilers and styling parts require painting; always test fit on the car before paint or modification, as painted parts are difficult to return.
- Check how the part mounts, and whether any drilling, brackets or seal changes are needed to avoid rattles, poor panel gaps or water ingress.

Who is still using the ashtray in their classic 911?
Installation uses standard ashtray mounting spots, there is no alteration required, which means it's 100% reversible. Installation photos in this ad show double gauge mount, but process is same for all accessories in this series. This will fit g-body cars up till 1985 (before side climate vents become larger in 1986)
Manufactured with PA12 Nylon, this part offers excellent heat and chemical resistance, ensuring strength and durability.
Installation:
• Remove the passenger side knee pad/trim (2x10mm nuts).
• Remove the ashtray (additional 2x10mm nuts).
• Install the accessory, reusing the 2x10mm nuts and washers. You’ll notice a small amount of adjustability, which allows you to set equal gaps between the left and right knee trim/pad, accommodating the slight variances in older cars.
• Reinstall the passenger knee pad/trim.
This simple process allows you to repurpose the ashtray space with no permanent changes to your classic 911.

When removing the radio, it was impossible to find a replacement cubby that fit perfectly, maximized the space, and looked like it was meant to be there. All aftermarket cubbies were either too thin, poorly fitting, or impossible to mount, and none of them had a well-finished surround trim.
Now offering this radio delete cubby pocket to anyone who wants to utilise the space for more storage instead of using available block-off plates. The pocket is made from PA12 nylon, making it very durable and resistant to heat, chemicals, and wear. The finish texture resembles typical car plastic parts.
Inside dimensions of the pocket:
Width: 177mm / 6.95"
Height: 44mm / 1.73"
Depth: 102mm / 4" (deep enough to hold a phone but not too deep to make it hard to pull items out)
Installation involves sliding the pocket into the opening, then sliding four retaining blocks (three on the bottom, one on the top) from the back of the pocket into the guides. These blocks securely attach the pocket against the metal dash. After the blocks are in place, use a thin needle or nail to align the nuts inside the blocks with the holes in the pocket. Finally, fasten everything with seven screws (this needs to be done inside the pocket, so it’s best to use a Phillips head screwdriver attachment; finger tight should be enough—do not over-tighten).

If you have deleted your center dash or are planning to, but still want to keep or add an auxiliary gauge while maintaining a clean, minimalistic OEM look, this product is for you.
The idea came when considering removing my center dash but hesitated because I didn't want to lose the air/fuel ratio gauge. There was nothing on the market that allowed for adding a gauge once the center dash was removed, so it was decided to create one.
The gauge holder has an open bottom to accommodate various gauge depths. The gauge is held in place by friction, with the diameter of the opening slightly more than 52mm to account for slight variations in gauge diameters between manufacturers. For a snug and secure fit, you can add a bit of tape around the gauge.
This fits Porsche 911 (1999-2005) 996 generation as well as the Boxster 986.
The part is made from highly durable and heat-resistant HP PA 12 nylon. It is dyed black to resemble typical car plastics but can be finished to match your interior.
Please note - Gauge in picture is not included

Storage tray retrofit centre console
Fits:
Porsche 986 Boxster - 1997 to 2004
Porsche 996 - 1997 to 2005 (Coupe models only)
This is a full replacement of the ashtray/window switch panel, transforming it into a double window switch with a larger storage cubby.
Please note: The window switches shown are for demonstration purposes only and are not included. You will need to reuse your existing switches.
The idea behind this upgrade is simple: all coupes (Carrera, turbo, GT2, GT3, etc.) come with a center console panel designed to accommodate four window switches (primarily used in convertibles). As a result, coupe owners end up with two blank dummy buttons in their consoles. No one needs those blanks or an ashtray; what we do need is a place to store small to medium items like a phone.
The main goal is to maintain a stock appearance. This cubby blends in perfectly, following the curves of the center console to fit seamlessly. You may notice small enhancements such as the angled position of the buttons and a small ridge between them. These features provide more tactile separation between the button switches, making it easier to identify the correct switch without looking. How many times have you or your passenger opened the wrong window? This design aims to prevent that.
Manufactured with PA12 Nylon, this product is strong, durable, and heat resistant.

I'm a fan of the fold out cup holders but if you've had any amount of seat time with a drink in the car then you'll know drinks move and spill on your HVAC buttons. This commonly makes your fan/temp controls sticky and sometimes non responsive. With the 992 911 2020+ interior update some cars have a cup holder in the centre console where a small ashtray or cubby is on all previous 911s and current Caymans. This is a custom made cupholder to utilize un-used space in the car and add an additional convenience to your experience to all other makes and models. Visually the goal is to offer a piece that does not deviate from the OEM look of the car while adding function.
Package Includes: 1x Cup holder. 1x Leather wrapped side brackets. 1x Kup Bracket. Satin Black. Plug and play. 5-15 min install time.
Plug & Play: Minimal to no tools required. Slip the side bracket in. It will slide into place and you will feel it fall into the casting behind the side cover. Screw the Kup brackets together. attach the Kup onto the bracket.
Note
These are 3d printed parts. There will be support marks and small/minor blemishes on some surfaces. We post treat these as best we can to match the OEM look and feel. The pictures above represent exactly what you should expect.
