Wiechers
Wiechers for Porsche
Originally established in a garage nearby Nienburg, Germany in 1969, WIECHERS kept growing constantly under the lead of company founder Hans-Dieter Wiechers. Resulting from that growth the company relocated several times until finally moving into the current premises (5600m²) in the year 2000.Wolfgang Kruse took over as owner in 2009. He focused on preparing the company for the future establishing state of the art CAD software and digital measuring devices. Nowadays the company is certified according to ISO9001:2008 and an officially recognized manufacturer of Porsche roll-cages meeting DMSB / FIA requirements. As a long time participant in the FIA WTCC Championship we do have the necessary expertise to build up race-cars from scratch
Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche
Where Wiechers is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.
- Typical reasons to choose Wiechers braces include improving front-end response, reducing chassis flex and sharpening turn-in, especially on older cars or those used for fast road and track driving.
- Common symptoms that lead owners to consider chassis bracing are a vague front end, inconsistent steering feel, or the shell feeling less rigid after other suspension upgrades.
- In use, be aware of potential clunks, squeaks or clearance issues if a brace is fitted incorrectly, and remember that added rigidity can highlight existing suspension wear rather than fix it.
- After installation, re-torque fixings after a few drives, avoid preloading the suspension unevenly, and always check for clearance to brake lines, bodywork and engine-bay components.
- Expect some change in noise or harshness compared with standard, particularly where additional bracing and stiffer mounts are combined.
- Plan geometry and alignment checks after significant chassis or suspension changes to make sure the handling benefits are realised safely.

Motorsport and Off-Road — People choose motorsport and off-road parts to improve strength, protection, and reliability under harsher use—track days, rally-style driving, or rough-road touring. It’s also common when building a purpose-led car: better cooling, stronger mounts, improved braking, underbody protection, and safety equipment to suit the car’s intended use.
- Some motorsport or off-road components may be track-only; always check product notes and local regulations before use on the road.
- Be clear about whether the car is mainly road, fast road or track focused so you do not overbuild or choose parts that add unnecessary noise and harshness.
Strut Brace — Strut braces are fitted to reduce chassis flex, sharpen steering response, and improve consistency under cornering—popular for fast road and track use. They’re also used when the front end feels less precise, or after suspension upgrades where you want the shell to cope better with increased loads.
- The benefit of a strut brace is usually most noticeable on a car with healthy dampers, bushes and alignment, so treat it as part of a complete chassis package.
- Check clearance for brake lines, wiring, bonnet and other engine bay components, and torque mounting hardware correctly so the brace does not preload the suspension.
Suspension Upgrades — Suspension upgrades are chosen to improve body control, cornering balance, and steering response, or to tailor the car for specific use (road comfort, fast road, or track days). You may change brand or type based on desired ride height, damping adjustability, and how firm you want the setup to feel.
- Always budget for a proper alignment, and if necessary corner-weighting, after major suspension changes so the car feels stable and predictable.
- Start with a clear goal for how you use the car, then match spring rates, damper settings and bushing choices to that use so you avoid unwanted harshness or instability.
