Developed specifically for enthusiasts who want modern A/C efficiency without compromising originality, this advanced evaporator solves many of the common issues associated with ageing factory systems while significantly improving cooling performance with modern R134a refrigerant.
As Porsche 964 and 993 models continue to age, factory evaporators often become clogged, corroded, inefficient, or leak over time. A common issue on these vehicles is the appearance of white flakes or dust particles blowing through the cabin vents, caused by oxidation and corrosion inside the evaporator core.
Unlike modern aftermarket solutions, many replacement OEM evaporators no longer feature the original anti-corrosion coating due to environmental restrictions. As a result, even new OE units can begin oxidising shortly after installation, causing premature deterioration and recurring “white flake” issues.
The CSF evaporator was engineered specifically to eliminate these problems permanently while also improving cooling performance.
Modern Performance Cooling Technology
Leveraging decades of experience designing high-performance A/C condensers, CSF applied modern engineering and manufacturing techniques to completely redesign the original Porsche evaporator.
Working alongside Porsche specialists and development
partner Motorsport Inc, CSF extensively tested and compared:
• Original OE evaporators
• Brand-new OEM replacement units
• The now-discontinued Griffiths evaporator
The result is a modern OEM+ evaporator that:
• Fits better than factory units
• Seals more effectively within the HVAC housing
• Provides significantly improved cooling efficiency
• Delivers superior long-term durability
Key Features & Improvements
• Designed for Porsche 964 and 993 models
• Modern parallel-flow dual-core evaporator design
• Approximately 2x greater cooling performance vs new OEM units
• Optimised specifically for R134a refrigerant systems
• Improved airflow and HVAC sealing efficiency
• Super-high pressure multi-channel microtube core technology
• Anti-corrosive powder-coated finish
• Eliminates common “white flake” vent issue
• More durable than factory evaporators
• OEM+ fitment and factory-style integration
• Lower cost than genuine Porsche replacement units
Why the CSF Evaporator Performs Better
Modern Parallel-Flow Core Design
The original Porsche evaporator uses outdated serpentine-style core technology originally developed for R12 refrigerant systems.
The CSF evaporator upgrades this to a modern parallel-flow
dual-core design featuring:
• Increased surface area contact
• Improved refrigerant flow efficiency
• Enhanced thermal transfer
• Superior cooling performance with R134a refrigerant
No More White Flakes or Cabin Dust
One of the most frustrating issues on Porsche 964 and 993 models is white dust or flakes blowing from the dashboard vents.
This is caused by oxidation and corrosion inside the evaporator core.
The CSF unit solves this permanently with a durable anti-corrosive powder coat finish that protects the evaporator from moisture, oxidation, and corrosion — ensuring long-term reliability and cleaner cabin airflow.
Better Fitment = Better Cooling
Testing showed the CSF evaporator seals approximately twice as effectively as OEM or discontinued aftermarket units.
A superior seal improves airflow through the evaporator
core, resulting in:
• Colder vent temperatures
• Improved cabin cooling
• Better HVAC system efficiency
• Reduced strain on the air conditioning system
Why Upgrade Your Porsche 964 / 993 Evaporator?
Restore Modern Cooling Performance
Designed specifically to improve R134a system efficiency.
Improve Long-Term Reliability
Eliminates corrosion and common evaporator failures.
Reduce Future Repair Costs
The evaporator sits deep within the HVAC suitcase behind the dashboard, requiring extensive labour to replace. Installing a long-term solution now prevents repeat failures later.
