Product Information
Product Information
Exhaust manifold to catalytic converter gasket.
This gasket provides a tight, pressure-resistant seal between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter. Under high exhaust temperatures and pulsating exhaust flow, the gasket maintains integrity to prevent leaks, ensures correct back-pressure, and preserves exhaust gas routing as per factory specifications.
Sold each, 2 required per vehicle.

Fits:
Porsche 986 Boxster 2.7L 1999 - 2005
Porsche 986 Boxster S 3.2L 1999 - 2005

Diagram ref no 7

It is supplied as a single seal; for full exhaust assembly maintenance usually two are required (one per side/exhaust bank) to guarantee symmetric sealing and effective exhaust performance.

Position: Between the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter - forms the connection seal in the exhaust system.

Function: Provides a pressure-tight, heat-resistant seal to prevent exhaust leaks, ensure correct exhaust routing, maintain back-pressure, and reduce risk of exhaust-gas leakage or noise.

Over time, high exhaust heat and repeated heating/cooling cycles cause exhaust gaskets to degrade. They may shrink, crack, or lose sealing pressure — which leads to exhaust leaks, rattling, increased emissions, back-pressure loss, poor performance or noisy exhaust. Replacing this gasket restores a secure, leak-free connection and helps maintain engine efficiency, emissions compliance, and exhaust system integrity.

When to replace:
Audible exhaust leak or ticking / hissing noise at exhaust manifold / cat junction
Visible soot or carbon deposits around the gasket area (sign of leakage)
Reduced engine performance, rough idle or inconsistent exhaust tone
After removing exhaust manifold, catalytic converter or exhaust down-pipe for maintenance or repair
During a full exhaust system overhaul or gasket-replacement maintenance cycle
When original gasket shows signs of age, heat damage, corrosion or physical deformation
