Fabspeed Sport Headers.

The Fabspeed Sport Headers are a high-performance replacement for the factory exhaust manifolds on 2006–2009 Porsche 997 Turbo models.

Designed to improve the flow of exhaust gases from the cylinder heads to the turbochargers, these headers use equal-length primary tubing and high-velocity 3-into-1 merge collectors to create a smoother and less restrictive exhaust path.

They are manufactured from 14–16 gauge CNC mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel, providing excellent resistance to heat, corrosion and repeated thermal cycling.

Fabspeed designed the headers as a direct replacement for the original Porsche headers, making them suitable as both a performance upgrade and a replacement for ageing or damaged factory exhaust manifolds.

What This Product Does:
The exhaust headers collect exhaust gases leaving the engine's cylinders and direct them towards the turbochargers.

On a turbocharged engine, the energy contained in the exhaust gases is used to drive the turbine wheels. Efficient exhaust flow before the turbochargers can therefore influence turbo response, engine breathing and overall performance.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Factory exhaust manifolds operate under extremely demanding conditions, including very high exhaust temperatures, constant vibration and repeated heating and cooling cycles.

Common symptoms of worn, cracked or leaking exhaust headers include:

• Ticking or tapping noises when the engine is cold
• Blowing or hissing noises from the exhaust manifold area
• Exhaust leaks around the cylinder-head flanges
• Black soot deposits around manifold joints
• Cracks in the manifold or welds
• Warped mounting flanges
• Broken or heavily corroded mounting hardware
• Increased exhaust noise
• Exhaust fumes around the engine compartment
• Reduced throttle response
• Reduced or inconsistent turbo response
• Loss of engine performance
• Increased heat around nearby engine components

Similar symptoms can also be caused by failed exhaust gaskets, loose fasteners or leaks elsewhere in the exhaust system, so the complete assembly should be inspected before replacement.

Why Replacement Matters:
An exhaust header must provide a secure and sealed path for gases travelling from the engine to the turbocharger.

If a header cracks or develops a leaking flange, exhaust gases can escape before reaching the turbocharger. This reduces the exhaust energy available to drive the turbine and may contribute to poorer turbo response and reduced performance.

Escaping exhaust gases can also expose surrounding components to excessive heat and create unwanted noise.
