Fabspeed XperTune Performance Software ECU Upgrade.
The Fabspeed XperTune Performance Software is a custom ECU calibration upgrade designed for the 2002–2007 Porsche 955 Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S with the 4.5L twin-turbocharged V8 engine.

Instead of replacing a mechanical engine component, XperTune modifies the calibration stored within the engine control unit (ECU). The software is designed to optimise engine performance by recalibrating parameters associated with sensor inputs, air/fuel ratios, boost pressure and overall engine management.

The result is increased performance potential together with sharper response and improved power and torque delivery.

The package includes a handheld tuning device that communicates with the Cayenne through its OBD-II diagnostic port. This allows the original ECU data to be read and a custom Fabspeed calibration to be installed without normally having to remove and send away the ECU.

What This Product Does:
The ECU manages many of the functions that determine how the engine operates.

On the twin-turbocharged Cayenne, this includes parameters associated with:

Fabspeed XperTune recalibrates selected engine-management parameters to improve the performance characteristics of the 4.5L twin-turbo V8.

Unlike a generic mechanical modification, the calibration is prepared using information about the individual vehicle and its existing modifications.

Custom ECU Calibration:
Fabspeed uses the stock ECU data together with information supplied about the vehicle to develop the tune.

This allows the calibration to account for the vehicle's particular specification and modifications.

Relevant modifications may include:

• Performance exhaust systems
• Sport catalytic converters
• Intake upgrades
• Air filters
• Other compatible performance components

Accurate vehicle information should be supplied so the calibration can be developed for the correct setup.

OBD Handheld Tuning:
The included handheld allows the tuning process to be completed through the vehicle's OBD-II diagnostic port.

The general process involves:

• Reading the original ECU data from the Cayenne using the handheld tuner.
• Connecting the handheld to a Windows computer.
• Supplying the vehicle data and modification information to Fabspeed.
• Receiving the custom ECU calibration.
• Loading the calibration onto the handheld.
• Flashing the new calibration to the Cayenne through the OBD-II port.

This means ECU removal is normally unnecessary for the tuning process.
