Fan housing alternator. 
This aluminium moulded housing replaces the original shroud that encloses the alternator and cooling fan on Porsche 906 and 911 RSR racing engines. It is cast from aluminium moulding, with dimensions and mounting points aligned to the factory reference (225 mm diameter).

The fan/alternator housing is a critical component: it locates the alternator, supports the cooling fan and defines the airflow path through the air-cooled engine. In motorsport or restored engines it is exposed to extreme heat, vibration and airflow loads. Over time the original housing may become warped, cracked, or suffer corrosion — which can lead to belt misalignment, fan rub, reduced cooling efficiency or even engine damage.
