Front Bumper Retaining Bracket.

The OE Match Front Bumper Retaining Bracket is a replacement retaining bracket used within the front bumper assembly of early Porsche 911 and 912 models from 1965–1968.

Fits:
  • Porsche 911/912 1965-68

Diagram Ref No 19

The bracket forms part of the bumper mounting and retention system, helping secure the front bumper components in their correct position relative to the bodywork.

What This Product Does:
The front bumper assembly relies on a number of brackets, retainers, fasteners and supports to keep it properly located on the vehicle.

The retaining bracket helps:

  • Secure the front bumper assembly
  • Maintain correct bumper positioning
  • Support correct alignment with surrounding bodywork
  • Prevent unwanted movement or vibration
  • Keep associated bumper components firmly retained
  • Maintain the original front-end assembly layout
  • Replace a corroded, bent or missing original bracket

Although relatively small, the retaining bracket contributes to the structural stability and fit of the bumper assembly.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Common signs of a worn or damaged bumper retaining bracket include:

  • Front bumper movement
  • Rattling from the bumper area
  • Bumper sitting unevenly
  • Incorrect gap between bumper and bodywork
  • One side of the bumper appearing loose
  • Vibration while driving
  • Visible corrosion
  • Rust around the mounting area
  • Bent or distorted bracket
  • Cracked retaining section
  • Broken mounting point
  • Missing bracket
  • Loose associated fasteners
  • Bumper trim moving independently of the bumper assembly

Because the front bumper uses several mounting components, the complete assembly should be inspected before assuming this bracket is the only cause.

Why Replacement Matters:
A worn, damaged or missing bracket can allow the bumper assembly to move more than intended.

Continued use may cause:

  • Progressive loosening of the bumper
  • Damage to neighbouring mounting hardware
  • Poor bumper alignment
  • Rattling and vibration
  • Wear to surrounding trim
  • Scratching of painted bodywork
  • Additional stress on other brackets or fasteners

Replacing the damaged bracket restores the correct retaining point and helps distribute loads through the original mounting arrangement.
