This module manages the ignition timing and spark control within the engine management system (LH-Jetronic) to ensure accurate ignition advance, optimum combustion, smooth engine running and compliance with factory tuning targets.

Position on Vehicle: Engine bay - installed in the ECU/ignition control module rack, typically behind the left front/fuse area or ignition electronics bay of the Porsche 928.

Applications: Intended for replacement when the original ignition control unit has failed, is causing engine management faults, erratic timing behaviour, misfiring, or when restoring the engine electronics to factory specification.

An ignition control unit governs when spark is delivered to each cylinder and under what conditions (load, RPM, temperature).
