Needle roller bearing.
This  needle roller bearing, also known as a needle cage bearing, is used in the Porsche 915 type manual transmission. In the gearbox, needle roller bearings support and permit rotation of internal components by minimizing friction between moving parts.

Fits:
Porsche 911 1974 - 1986 4 & 5 speed

Diagram Ref no 7.

This OE Match version meets original specification dimensions and tolerances to ensure proper fit and function when replacing worn or damaged bearings.

The needle roller bearing provides smooth rotational support for transmission shafts and gears. It helps reduce friction and wear between the main shaft and the transmission housing or gear assemblies, allowing gearsets to spin freely and reliably under load. This results in consistent gear engagement, reduced drivetrain stress, and a smoother shifting experience.

Function
Friction Reduction: Needle rollers reduce surface contact friction between rotating components.
Load Handling: Supports radial loads within the transmission at critical gear positions.
Smooth Operation: Promotes precise and efficient gear movement with minimal resistance.
Long Service Life: Engineered to resist wear and maintain structural integrity under continued transmission stresses.

Over time, the original needle roller bearings can become worn, leading to increased friction, gear noise, and premature wear of transmission components. A failing bearing may cause rough shifting, gear chatter, or accelerated gearbox wear. Replacing the worn bearing with an OE Match part ensures proper internal support, restores smooth gearbox operation, and helps protect more expensive transmission components from damage.

Replace this bearing if you notice:
Unusual gearbox noise, especially when changing gears
  Rough or notchy shifting feel
Vibration or unusual resonance from the transmission
  Sluggish gear engagement
During full gearbox rebuild or overhaul
