This is the replacement ring set for Retro Performance 81mm (00891181PJE) and 82.5mm (00891182PJE) Kits.

Piston rings perform several critical functions within an internal combustion engine. The compression rings help contain combustion pressure above the piston, reducing the amount of combustion gas that escapes into the crankcase. The oil-control rings regulate the lubricating oil film on the cylinder walls, removing excess oil while retaining sufficient lubrication for smooth piston movement. The rings also help transfer heat from the pistons into the cylinder walls.

• Piston rings are essential for maintaining the cylinder seal required for efficient compression and combustion. When compression rings become worn, damaged, stuck, or lose their tension, combustion gases can escape past the pistons into the crankcase.
