Graphite Coated Hypereutectic Piston Kit
Restore compression and engine performance
with this OE Match 1600cc Hypereutectic Piston Kit, featuring graphite coated
pistons with a 30° angle, valve pockets and 22mm wrist pins.
Fits:
- Porsche 911 1965-1968 912 SWB (F)
- Porsche 356C 1963-65
with the 3 piece engine case
Designed for a 74mm stroke, the hypereutectic construction provides excellent strength, dimensional stability and wear resistance. Graphite coated skirts help reduce friction between the piston and cylinder wall, while the valve pockets provide the required clearance for compatible engine configurations.
Each piston features a 17cc dome and is designed for a 9.2:1 compression ratio. Supplied as a complete four-piston set with rings, wrist pins and clips, it is ideal for engine rebuilds and replacing worn piston assemblies.
Why Choose Hypereutectic Pistons?
Hypereutectic pistons use a high-silicon aluminium alloy that offers excellent dimensional stability and controlled thermal expansion.
Benefits include:
- Excellent strength and wear resistance
- Reduced thermal expansion
- Graphite coating to reduce friction
- Consistent piston-to-cylinder clearances
- Excellent durability for engine rebuilds
When Should Pistons Be Replaced?
Pistons and rings can wear through high
mileage, overheating, poor lubrication or excessive cylinder wear. Replacement
may be required if the engine suffers from:
- Low compression
- Increased oil consumption
- Worn or damaged pistons
- Excessive piston or ring wear
- Engine damage from overheating or detonation
- A complete engine rebuild
