  • Supports an airtight induction path when correctly installed
  • Protects the covered opening from contamination
  • Provides a direct replacement for a missing, loose or deteriorated cap

Symptoms of Fault

  • Hissing or whistling from the intake area
  • Rough or hunting idle
  • Hesitation during initial throttle application
  • Lean-mixture or airflow-related fault codes
  • A vacuum leak identified during smoke testing
  • Visible cracking, hardening, distortion or looseness of the cap

Why Replacement Matters

Age, engine-bay heat and repeated heat cycles can cause a rubber closure cap to harden, split or lose its grip. Renewing a damaged or missing cap helps restore the intended seal. Inspect nearby sleeves, vacuum lines and clamps at the same time, as deterioration elsewhere in the intake assembly can produce similar symptoms.

FAQs

  • Can a damaged cap cause an intake leak? Yes. If the cap seals an intake-system opening, cracking or poor seating may allow unmetered air to enter.
  • What should be checked during fitting? Confirm that the port is clean, the cap is fully seated and the surrounding hoses, sleeves and clamps are undamaged.
  • How can compatibility be confirmed? Compare reference 93011025602 with the existing component and confirm the vehicle model, year, engine code and VIN where required.
