Radiator Intercooler.

Maintain efficient charge-air cooling and dependable turbocharged engine performance with this Porsche Radiator Intercooler, part numbers 95514580301 and 95511080402. Designed for compatible Porsche applications, the intercooler is a key part of the turbocharging and intake system, reducing the temperature of compressed intake air before it enters the engine.

Fits:
  • Porsche 955 Cayenne Turbo 4.5L 2003-06

Diagram Ref No 1 And 2

Turbochargers compress the intake air to increase the amount of oxygen available for combustion. However, compressing air also increases its temperature. Hotter air is less dense and can increase thermal stress, so the intercooler acts as a heat exchanger to remove excess heat from the boosted intake charge.

By cooling the compressed air, the intercooler helps provide a denser intake charge, supporting consistent engine performance, efficient combustion and controlled intake temperatures.

Intercoolers operate under pressure and are continually exposed to heat cycles, vibration and road conditions. Over time, the core, end tanks, seals or connections can deteriorate or become damaged. A leaking intercooler can allow boost pressure to escape, potentially causing reduced power, poor acceleration and engine-management faults.

Replacing a damaged or leaking unit with the correct Porsche Radiator Intercooler 95514580301 / 95511080402 helps restore charge-air cooling efficiency and a properly sealed boost system.

What This Product Does:

  • Cools compressed air produced by the turbocharging system.
  • Reduces intake air temperature before air enters the engine.
  • Helps increase the density of the boosted intake charge.
  • Supports consistent turbocharged engine performance.
  • Helps maintain efficient combustion.
  • Supports predictable power delivery under load.
  • Forms part of the pressurised charge-air system.
  • Helps maintain correct boost pressure when properly sealed.
  • Reduces thermal load within the intake system.
  • Works with the turbocharger, boost pipework and intake system.
  • Helps the engine-management system achieve expected performance.
  • Replaces a leaking, damaged or inefficient intercooler.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
  • Reduced engine power.
  • Poor acceleration.
  • Loss of turbocharger boost.
  • Sluggish throttle response.
  • Engine-management or check engine warning light.
  • Underboost-related diagnostic fault codes.
  • Hissing or rushing-air noises during acceleration.
  • Boost pressure that does not reach the expected level.
  • Intermittent loss of performance under load.
  • Increased intake air temperatures.
  • Engine entering a reduced-power or protective mode.
  • Increased fuel consumption.
  • Oil residue around intercooler joints or damaged areas.
  • Cracks in the intercooler core or end sections.
  • Bent or heavily damaged cooling fins.
  • Impact or road debris damage.
  • Leaking intercooler connections.
  • Pressure loss detected during charge-air system testing.

Why Replacement Matters:
  • The intercooler must perform two important functions: cool the compressed intake charge and maintain a sealed path for boost pressure.
  • If the intercooler develops a crack or leak, compressed air can escape before reaching the engine. The turbocharger may still be producing boost, but part of that pressure is lost through the damaged intercooler.
  • This can result in reduced engine performance, slower acceleration and underboost fault codes. The engine-management system may also limit power if measured boost pressure differs significantly from the requested value.
  • Cooling efficiency is equally important. A damaged, contaminated or heavily obstructed intercooler may be less effective at removing heat from the intake charge. Higher intake temperatures reduce air density and can cause the engine-management system to modify operation to protect the engine under demanding conditions.
  • Continuing to operate with a substantial boost leak can also make the turbocharging system work harder to achieve requested pressure, depending on the engine and control strategy.
  • Replacing a defective intercooler with the correct Porsche Radiator Intercooler 95514580301 / 95511080402 helps restore charge-air system integrity, effective intake cooling and consistent turbocharged engine performance.
