Protection shield, replace that cracked one before all the dirt and water get into the engine.
Genuine Porsche Original Equipment (OE) rear back panel - also commonly referred to as a rear spoiler bulkhead, rear wall, or spoiler panel. This rear back panel is an authentic body panel component installed at the rear of the 911’s engine bay area to help seal and finish the bodywork surrounding the moveable rear spoiler and engine cover.

Fits:
Porsche 964 1989 - 1994
Porsche 993 1994 - 1997

Diagram ref no 11

The rear back panel provides structural closure and a clean interior finish behind the rear spoiler mechanism. It also helps seal the engine bay and spoiler assembly, preventing unwanted debris, water, and airflow from entering critical areas while maintaining the original bodyline aesthetics typical of Porsche 911 models.

Function:  Fitted between the rear firewall and the underside of the engine lid/spoiler area, this OE panel forms a barrier that strengthens the rear body structure and aligns with the spoiler mechanism. It supports correct spoiler travel and helps maintain the visual continuity of the rear bodywork.

Over time, these rear back panels can become degraded due to age, heat cycles, exposure to moisture, or wear from engine bay movement. Compromised panels can allow noise, debris, and moisture into areas that impact spoiler mechanics or body integrity. Fitting a Genuine Porsche OE panel restores factory-engineered structural closure and preserves vehicle authenticity.

When to replace:
Panel is cracked, warped, or broken
Rear spoiler area shows moisture ingress or debris intrusion
Vehicle undergoing bodywork, repaint, or restoration
During spoiler or engine bay service when original panel is removed or damaged.
