The lever forms part of the mechanical linkage that raises and lowers the movable rear spoiler. It connects with the spoiler linkage and associated mounting hardware, transferring movement through the mechanism so the spoiler can extend and retract correctly.

What This Product Does:
The rear spoiler system uses a combination of drive components, linkage, levers, pivots and mounting hardware to move the spoiler between its lowered and raised positions.

The left-hand spoiler lever helps:

  • Transfer movement through the spoiler mechanism
  • Support the left side of the movable spoiler
  • Maintain correct spoiler positioning
  • Keep both sides of the spoiler moving together
  • Guide the spoiler through its operating arc
  • Maintain correct alignment when raised or lowered
  • Connect the spoiler assembly with the main linkage system

Although relatively small, the lever is important to the geometry of the complete retractable spoiler mechanism.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Possible symptoms of a worn, bent or damaged rear spoiler lever include:

  • Spoiler raising unevenly
  • One side sitting higher than the other
  • Spoiler failing to reach its full raised position
  • Spoiler failing to retract completely
  • Jerky spoiler movement
  • Binding during operation
  • Clicking or knocking noises
  • Excessive free play in the mechanism
  • Spoiler appearing twisted when raised
  • Visible bending or distortion of the lever
  • Cracked or damaged pivot areas
  • Excessive wear around mounting holes
  • Spoiler warning indication caused by incomplete movement
  • Increased load or strain on the spoiler drive system

Any unusual spoiler movement should be investigated before repeated operation causes additional damage.

Why Replacement Matters:
A damaged spoiler lever can affect the entire retractable spoiler mechanism.

Continued operation may result in:

  • Increased load on the spoiler motor
  • Damage to the linkage
  • Wear of pivot points
  • Damage to mounting plates
  • Spoiler misalignment
  • Incomplete spoiler deployment
  • Spoiler jamming
  • Damage to adjoining bodywork or trim

Replacing the damaged lever restores the correct mechanical relationship between the spoiler and linkage.
