Most, if not all track prepared 964/993 cars will have their air bags removed to save weight and to avoid being deployed if the inevitable were to happen. Factory air bag covers are very valuable, and should not be left in these cars to become victims of the less than gentle treatment that track cars receive. Rennline’s airbag delete panel is a lightweight aluminum panel that is formed to the exact shape and size of the factory padded air bag cover but weighs 2/3rds less. Available in textured black powder coat to match the existing factory dash and uses all factory air bag cover hardware.

Note: Airbag must be removed to use this product.

What This Product Does:
Acts as the 12-volt accessory / lighter socket in the vehicle’s center console or dashboard — allowing a lighter to heat or more commonly now to serve as an accessory power outlet. 

Symptoms / Signs It Needs Replacement:

  • The lighter element no longer heats or works when pushed in.
  • The socket fails to provide power, i.e. no voltage at the accessory outlet.
  • Loose fit or poor contact with accessory plugs (the plug wiggles or loses connection).
  • The socket is burnt, corroded, or damaged internally.
  • The bezel or housing around the lighter is cracked, broken, or loose.

Why Replacement Matters:
  • Restores functionality for 12V accessories, which many modern drivers rely on (phone chargers, USB adapters, etc.).
