Lock tab washer used on the front steering lever mount (which connects the steering arm or control arm to the strut / suspension assembly) bolt on early Porsche 911 and 912 (1965–1968). Once fitted and bent over on the bolt head or nut, it prevents the bolt from rotating or loosening - a vital safety feature for the suspension/steering system.
Sold each. Quantity required: Multiples per vehicle, per original specification (typically 6 washers per vehicle on both sides).
Fits:
Porsche 911 2.0L 01/1963 - 07/1968
Porsche 912 1.6L 01/1965 - 07/1968

Original lock tabs can corrode, fatigue, or be incorrectly reused, losing the ability to lock the bolt securely. A compromised tab washer increases the risk of the steering-lever bolt loosening - which can cause alignment problems, suspension play, or even failure under load. Replacing with a fresh tab washer restores correct locking function, maintains safety and ensures reliable steering and suspension service.
Replace the tab washer if:
• The existing tab is corroded, bent, damaged or missing.
• You are performing front suspension or steering work (strut, control arm, bolt removal).
• You notice loosening or play in the steering or control arm mount.
• You are restoring or refreshing the suspension with correct OE-spec hardware.
