What This Product Does:
- The top mount (upper mount) of the shock/strut assembly is critical: it secures the top of the damper to the vehicle’s body/strut tower, supports the spring/damper load, and ensures correct alignment and isolation of vibration or noise.
- Over time, mounts/washers/nuts can corrode, loosen, rubber can deteriorate (if included), or tolerances may degrade, leading to movement, noise, vibration or alignment issues. Replacing the full kit restores the interface — ensuring the shock absorber is properly anchored, loads are contained, and suspension geometry/behaviour maintained.
When You Should Consider Replacement:- Clunking, knocking or popping noises from the rear strut top area when driving over bumps, or when the suspension unloads/loads.
