Lightweight composite roof skin.
Material: Carbon fibre

fibretek

Fits:
Porsche 911 1967-89 Coupe
Porsche 964 Coupe
Porsche 993 Coupe

Save weight by removing the sheet steel (including sunroof) from your 911's roof, and drastically lower you cars centre of gravity. A solution to removing the sunroof from a track/race car and to gain access for a weld-in roll cage without the need to re-paint or for welding. The carbon skin weighs less than half that of the original sheet steel, and can easily take an additional 20kgs off if removing the sunroof.

The black carbon fibre is finished in a high-gloss clear coat, showing off the 2x2 twill carbon fibre weave, (3k, aerospace grade GRP/Fibreglass reinforced skin). Vacuum bagged and resin-infused, to ensure zero air bubbles and the lightest possible part, can be over-painted if required.

Made-to-order, please allow 2-3 weeks for these to be made and dispatched.

About Roof Spoilers & Skins

Roof Skins & Roof Spoilers - Exterior Styling & Aerodynamic Upgrades

Roof skins and roof spoilers play a crucial role in a vehicle’s exterior styling, aerodynamics, and high-speed stability. Designed to enhance airflow over the roofline, these components reduce lift, improve downforce balance, and give your Porsche a more aggressive, motorsport-inspired appearance.

At Design911, our Roof Skins & Roof Spoilers category offers precision-engineered upgrades designed to replace or enhance factory components, delivering improved performance, durability, and visual impact for road and track-focused vehicles.

What Do Roof Skins & Roof Spoilers Do?

Roof skins and roof spoilers optimise airflow across the roof and rear of the vehicle.

Core Functions:

  • Improve aerodynamic efficiency and airflow management
  • Reduce rear-end lift at higher speeds
  • Enhance vehicle stability and handling
  • Update exterior styling with a sportier profile
  • Support balanced downforce when combined with rear spoilers or wings

These components are especially valuable for performance-oriented Porsche models driven enthusiastically or on track.

Why Do Roof Skins & Roof Spoilers Fail?

Factory roof skins and roof spoilers can degrade or underperform over time due to:

  • UV exposure causing fading or material breakdown
  • Age-related cracking or warping
  • Adhesive or mounting point failure Insufficient aerodynamic performance at higher speeds
  • Outdated styling compared to modern Porsche designs

Plastic and composite factory components are particularly prone to wear, making upgrades both a functional and aesthetic improvement.

Why Upgrade Your Roof Skin or Roof Spoiler?

Upgrading delivers measurable benefits in both performance and longevity.

Upgrade Advantages:

  • Enhanced aerodynamic efficiency and reduced lift
  • Improved high-speed stability and driver confidence
  • Stronger materials such as carbon fibre or reinforced composites
  • Motorsport-inspired styling upgrades
  • Improved resistance to heat, UV, and environmental wear

Performance roof skins and roof spoilers from Design911 are engineered for precise fitment and long-term durability.

Highlights

  • Porsche-specific roof skins and roof spoilers
  • Designed for aerodynamic efficiency and styling enhancement
  • High-quality materials including carbon fibre options
  • Ideal for road, fast-road, and track-focused builds
  • OEM-fitment or performance-upgrade solutions
