JE designs are specifically engineered for extreme applications up to and including professional competition. In this environment, the higher compression ratios, high boost or heavy nitrous use necessitate the higher tensile strength of 4032 and 2618 aluminium alloy, which has been optimized for aftermarket Nikasil cylinders. The JE Piston Porsche series now include low friction skirt coatings and are lighter than before, improving both performance and longevity.
The Dome/Dish require no deburring or preparation and feature a smooth flowing radii for excellent flame travel.
4032 Aluminium Alloy
Pistons manufactured from 4032 wrought aluminium alloy are designed for high performance applications where a strong and quiet piston is required. These pistons require less initial piston to cylinder wall clearance and are quieter at start-up. Ideal for street/road use
Piston Features:
• Accumulator Grooves
• Contact Reduction Grooves
• Double Broach Oilers
• Skirt Coating
• Under crown Milling for Weight Reduction
• Pin Fitting, Wire Locks and Rings Included

Forged from 2618 Aluminium Alloy

Fits:
Porsche 911 2.0L 12V (10.5:1)
Engine Size : 2.0
Bore Size: 81.00mm
Stroke: 66.00mm
Rod length: 130.00mm
Compression Distance : 33.90mm
Compression Ratio: 10.5
Dome volume: 37.4cc
Oversize: 1.00
Designed for Porsche Air-cooled 911 engines compatible with a Nickel Ceramic bore, these pistons are machined from forged 2618 alloy for greater strength. The valve pockets are machined to accommodate high lift cams, and accept the stock stroke and rod length. The ring grooves are precision CNC machined and all new applications include skirt coating and 3D undercrown milling. Piston clearances designed for aluminum cylinders, steel/iron cylinders may require additional clearance.
2618 Aluminium Alloy
Pistons manufactured from 2618 wrought aluminium alloy are designed for racing and very demanding applications. These environments necessitate the higher strength 2618 aluminium alloy. When exposed to heat, 2618 aluminium alloy expands 15% more than 4032 aluminium alloy therefore the initial piston to cylinder wall needs to be 15% greater. This difference is most noticeable during cold start. When running at operating temperature both 2618 and 4032 pistons have approximately the same clearances.
• Accumulator Grooves
• Skirt Coating
• 3D Lightweight Undercrown Milling
• Pin fitting and wire locks
• 9310 high carbon alloy or tool steel wrist pins
• Rings Included

JE Pistons for High-Output, High-Strength & Precision-Built Porsche Engine Rebuilds
JE Pistons are engineered for engines that need uncompromising strength, exceptional reliability and maximum performance. Manufactured from forged aluminium using motorsport-grade techniques, JE components deliver superior durability under extreme cylinder pressures, high RPM loads and elevated combustion temperatures. These pistons are a top choice for performance road builds, turbocharged applications, high-compression setups and competition-focused Porsche engines.
Whether you’re building a reliable street performer or a full racing engine, JE Pistons provide the toughness, stability and precision needed to extract the best from your powerplant.
What JE Pistons Do
JE Pistons enhance engine performance and durability by:
- Providing
exceptional structural strength for boosted or high-RPM operation
- Reducing
reciprocating mass for improved throttle response
- Increasing
combustion efficiency with advanced crown and skirt designs
- Offering
superior heat resistance under extreme load
- Maintaining
consistent sealing with precision-machined ring grooves
- Reducing
friction, improving smoothness and efficiency
- Supporting aggressive tuning without sacrificing reliability
These pistons are engineered to handle the demands that standard cast pistons cannot tolerate.
Why Pistons Commonly Fail
Internal combustion engines place enormous stress on
pistons—especially in modified or aging powerplants. Common piston failures
include:
- Detonation
and pre-ignition, damaging crowns and ring lands
- Oil
starvation, leading to scuffing, seizure or skirt collapse
- Thermal
overload, often in turbo or track environments
- Material
fatigue from high mileage or frequent high-rev use
- Incorrect
tuning, creating lean conditions and excessive heat
- Excessive
boost pressure, overwhelming cast pistons
- Protective coating wear, causing friction and heat issues
Symptoms include smoke, low compression, knocking noises, oil consumption and visible piston scoring.
Why You Should Replace Old Pistons with JE Forged Components
Upgrading to precision-engineered JE forged pistons—designed to surpass original performance and durability levels—provides major benefits for any serious rebuild.
Key advantages include:
- Superior strength under extreme boost or high RPM
- Improved compression retention and sealing efficiency
- Reduced risk of piston failure in racing or track conditions
- Enhanced power delivery with optimised combustion characteristics
- Longer lifespan thanks to premium-grade forging materials
- Smoother, more responsive engine performance
- Confidence when running aggressive tunes, high compression or forced induction
JE Pistons are an essential upgrade for builders targeting motorsport-grade reliability.
