DEVELOPMENT:
The Porsche 986 Boxster is a fantastic sports car with huge potential, but its factory exhaust is overly restrictive. Stock headers use oversized catalytic converters, thin flanges, and crushed primary tubing that hold back performance, while the OEM exhaust adds a second set of converters that further reduce power. The SOUL 986 Competition Exhaust Package eliminates these weak points with a complete header and cat-back system engineered to work together. Designed to maximize performance and sound, the system delivers excitement without unwanted drone—SOUL mufflers keep things reserved at partial throttle, even when paired with catless headers. No valves are needed, making it the perfect choice for drivers who want raw performance and a bold exhaust note on demand, yet comfortable refinement around town.

CONSTRUCTION:
  Our headers are precision-engineered and crafted from durable T304L stainless steel, featuring port-matched flanges, smooth-radius primary tubing, and optimized collectors for maximum exhaust flow and power gains. Each system is mandrel-bent from T304L stainless steel and paired with mufflers reinforced for long-term durability. Custom brackets and clamps are supplied for a secure installation on your Boxster. To finish the look, select from a range of 321 stainless steel exhaust tips in various styles and finishes—or work with us to create a fully customized set.

Every exhaust component undergoes strict quality checks and is fixture-tested to guarantee perfect fitment. Each system is foam-packed for safe delivery and comes with new high-grade hardware for the header-to-exhaust flanges. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT?:
This product may trigger a check engine light due to removal of factory catalytic converters. O2 Spacers are available to reduce any chances of triggering a CEL. We suggest a custom ECU tune to disable any check engine lights (for track use only).

DEVELOPMENT:
Several Spec racing teams and shops including our development partner, Brandywine Motorwerks, have been seeking an exhaust solution that is durable enough for racing use as existing systems on the market and DIY solutions have been known to fail. We set out to build the most durable system possible while being cost effective and minding weight. A lack of resonance damping in a 986 exhaust system for competition use can cause metal fatigue in the factory headers, resulting in cracking. We crafted bespoke, adjustable brackets to mount the exhaust to the transmission to match movement of the drivetrain to the exhaust opposed to hard mounting to the body. Silicone dampers are also included as part of the brackets to help absorb vibrations. Clamps are not welded to the piping to prevent fatigue and provide easy / efficient replacement – the only welds in the entire system are in the flanges to the headers and every weld is back purged for maximum weld strength and durability. The brackets are adjustable for the best possible fitment and the rear pipes are easily replaced in the event of collision damage. 2″ straight piping keeps exhaust velocity high and weight down. Sound attenuating components like resonators are decidedly absent to reduce weight and complexity as PCA Club Races are not hosted on sound limited days. Should decibel limits be considered for other competition series or HPDE events on sound restricted tracks, alternative solutions can be used. The end result is a race bred system that will hold up to the stresses of racing and last until you podium – and beyond.  

CONSTRUCTION:
Each system is made in-house by our fabrication team from mandrel bent .065″ wall, 2″ diameter T304L stainless steel tubing and laser cut brackets. All welds are back purged for increased longevity under the most extreme conditions.

BOLT ON AND GO:
Each exhaust component is rigorously quality-checked, tested in a fixture to ensure perfect fitment, and then foam packed to ensure it arrives in perfect condition. New high grade hardware is included.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT?:
This race exhaust will trigger a check engine light due to removal of factory catalytic converters and deletion of the secondary o2 sensors. If this is bothersome, some race shops servicing SPB cars recommend turning off the CEL via removal of the CEL bulb.
