Shock Absorber Top Mount Kit (OE Ref: 99733306102)
This kit includes two rear upper shock mounts for Porsche cabrio models with PASM — the perfect solution if your existing mounts are worn, noisy, or if you’re fitting new rear shocks.

The suspension shock absorber mount secures the shock absorber to the vehicle’s chassis or body, while allowing the necessary movement and cushioning within the suspension system. Constructed from a combination of metal and rubber, the mount provides both strength and flexibility to absorb vibrations and impacts from the road.

Common Signs of Shock Mount Wear

Clunking or Banging Noises: Damaged or worn mounts can cause knocking or rattling sounds, especially over bumps, potholes, or uneven roads. This occurs when the shock absorber is no longer properly secured

Excessive Body Roll or Bouncing: Faulty mounts may limit the shock absorber’s effectiveness, leading to increased body roll when cornering or excessive bouncing over rough surfaces.

Brake hydraulic hoses are flexible lines that connect the rigid brake lines running along your vehicle’s body or frame to the brake calipers. These hoses are specially engineered and sized to move with the suspension, allowing for smooth travel as the vehicle goes over bumps and uneven road surfaces.

Because they carry brake fluid and transmit hydraulic pressure to the calipers or wheel cylinders, it’s essential to inspect brake hoses regularly. Over time, rubber hoses can deteriorate, with the inner lining shrinking and restricting fluid flow, which negatively affects braking performance

On the Porsche 964, common failure points in the front suspension include the control arm bushings and ball joints. As these components wear, you may notice clunking over bumps, loose or vague steering, uneven tire wear, or steering wheel vibration. Why Control Arms Matter
Control arms serve as a critical link between the suspension and the subframe. Their hinged design allows the suspension to articulate as the vehicle absorbs bumps or navigates turns. On vehicles with independent suspension, like the 964, multiple arms and connection points contribute to better ride comfort and stability.

As bushings and joints within a control arm wear out, the suspension can begin to feel loose or unstable. While some designs allow individual components to be serviced, many control arms require complete replacement to restore proper function.

Symptoms of Control Arm Failure
Signs that your control arms may need replacement include:

• Excessive play where the arms connect to the subframe or knuckle
• Clunking or knocking noises from the suspension
• Uneven tire wear
• Difficulty achieving proper wheel alignment
• Steering wheel vibration at highway speeds
• Wandering or pulling sensation through the steering wheel

The suspension control arms connect the suspension and steering knuckle to the chassis and allow the suspension to move and articulate over bumps and road imperfections. Control arms utilize bushings and ball joints to make these connections and those are the parts of the control arm that wear out and fail. Worn ball joints and bushings will cause vibration and clunking when driving, uneven tire wear, cause the vehicle to pull in one direction, and increase stopping distances.

Suspension Control Arm Kit

Control arms are crucial link in a vehicle's suspension connecting the suspension to a vehicle's subframe. These pieces are usually hinged to allow for suspension to travel and articulate as the vehicle rides over obstructions in the road and while the vehicle turns. Many vehicles such as those with independent suspensions have multiple links and feature several connection points and arms to offer better ride quality and comfort.

As bushings and joints in a control arm begin to wear you may notice a looseness feel in your suspension. And while many arms have replaceable and serviceable individual components, many still require the replacement of the entire arm.
