A Quick Look at OE Match

OE Match information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.

Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche

Where OE Match is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.

  • Often chosen when owners want OE-equivalent quality with sensible running costs, especially for routine service and wear items.
  • Typical reasons to replace include restoring reliability, addressing age-related wear, or refreshing multiple components during larger repair work.
  • Common defects from incorrect application include noise, premature wear, leaks, or fitment quirks if the wrong variant is selected or fitted with old seals/hardware.
  • Watch for symptoms such as unusual noises, early wear, or repeat failures after recent work, which can indicate mismatched parts or supporting items left worn.
  • Always cross-check OEM part numbers, read model-year notes, and verify compatibility before ordering.
  • For safety-critical components, confirm specification and fitment carefully and have installation checked by a competent technician.

Browse by Category

If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.

Brakes — Brake components are renewed to restore stopping performance, address wear or upgrade a Porsche for fast road or track use. Common symptoms include vibration under braking, longer stopping distances, squealing, pulling to one side, warning lights and visible wear to discs and pads.

Brake Pad Wear Sensors — Brake pad wear sensors are replaced when pads are renewed or when warning lights indicate a broken or worn sensor. Symptoms include brake wear warnings even with new pads, damaged sensor cables, or broken clips around the caliper area.

Engine Electrical — Engine electrical parts are changed when there are starting, charging, ignition, or sensor-related faults that affect drivability and reliability, such as intermittent no-start, misfires, rough idle, poor charging, warning lights or heat-soak failures.

Service Parts — Service parts are replaced as routine maintenance to keep the engine and systems reliable, efficient, and protected, often resolving hard starting, rough idle, poor fuel economy and warning lights caused by clogged filters or worn ignition components.

Service Kits — Service kits bundle key service components to simplify maintenance and set the car back to a known baseline, especially useful when catching up on overdue servicing or dealing with general sluggish running, inconsistent idle and reduced performance.

  • For brake parts, confirm whether items are OE-equivalent replacements or performance upgrades and check if new fitting kits and sensors are required.
  • On service items and kits, match the kit to your exact Porsche model, engine and year, and review what is included so you can add any extra “while you are there” parts.

Important fitment information – please read before ordering:

Please be aware that some early 2.5L 986 Boxster models (*) were fitted with main bearing shells with the alignment/locating tab in the centre, as opposed to offset to the side, which is what this listing is for. Please check your existing bearing shells before ordering. If you have centre-aligned bearing shells, this product is not suitable and is no longer offered by Porsche as a replacement part.

In addition, some 2.5L models may be fitted with the earlier-style crankcase carrier, meaning the bearing shells required have the alignment tab on the right, not the left as is the case with this listing. Please ensure you check your existing shells before ordering. If the alignment tab on your existing shells is located on the right, please use part no. 99610113164 instead.

Additionally, for 2005 and 2006 2.7L 987 Boxster models (M9625 engine code) (*), the existing bearing shells are no longer offered by Porsche. These have the locating tab on the opposite side, meaning these bearings are incompatible. In order to fit these bearings, the crankcase carrier will need to be updated to the later style, part no. 99610100709.

The Porsche Macan engine mounts play a crucial role in keeping the engine and transmission securely connected to the frame or sub-frame. They provide stable support while minimizing vibrations that could otherwise transfer into the cabin. Properly functioning engine mounts help maintain drivetrain alignment, ensuring smooth performance and preventing premature wear on other components.

Over time, engine mounts can wear out or deteriorate due to heat, stress, and age. When this happens, you may experience increased engine noise, excessive vibration, and noticeable engine movement — all signs that your mounts need replacement. Replacing worn mounts restores comfort, stability, and overall driving enjoyment.

The shock-absorber compensating plate, also known as spring shim / coil-spring plate for Porsche 996 / 997 / 986 / 987 (OEM part No 996.343.511.00 and 996.343.511.01) is a small metal washer-style plate that sits between the top of the coil spring and the strut top mount/support ring. It’s used to compensate for spring manufacturing tolerances and to ensure the spring seats correctly and the static ride height and geometry are as Porsche intended.

996.343.511.00 – compensating plate (thinner option, commonly ≈ 3.0 mm).

996.343.511.01 – compensating plate (thicker option, commonly ≈ 6.5 mm).

Why are important / when to replace

Correct ride height & geometry: Porsche marks springs with tolerance codes; the correct compensating plate thickness is used to achieve the intended static height and suspension geometry. Using the wrong thickness (or missing the plate) can shift ride height by a few millimeters and slightly alter camber/handling.

Proper spring seating: the plate centers and supports the spring top so the spring doesn’t “walk” or sit unevenly on the top mount — missing/damaged plates can allow the spring to sit off-centre and introduce noise or uneven wear.

During any strut/spring/top-mount job: always inspect/replace these plates when you disassemble the strut. They’re inexpensive and commonly replaced as part of a suspension refresh.

Common issues and symptoms

Clunking or popping noises over bumps or in turns if the spring isn’t seating properly (plate missing, crushed, corroded or installed with wrong orientation).

Incorrect ride height / slight handling changes if the wrong thickness is used (3.0 mm vs 6.5 mm can change static height and the intended spring preload/stack). Enthusiast threads explicitly call out these two thicknesses and their effect.

Corrosion / physical damage: over time OE plates can corrode or get deformed during disassembly — they’re cheap and often replaced because removal can damage them.
