A Quick Look at OE Match

OE Match information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.

Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche

Where OE Match is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.

  • Often chosen when owners want OE-equivalent quality with sensible running costs, especially for routine service and wear items.
  • Typical reasons to replace include restoring reliability, addressing age-related wear, or refreshing multiple components during larger repair work.
  • Common defects from incorrect application include noise, premature wear, leaks, or fitment quirks if the wrong variant is selected or fitted with old seals/hardware.
  • Watch for symptoms such as unusual noises, early wear, or repeat failures after recent work, which can indicate mismatched parts or supporting items left worn.
  • Always cross-check OEM part numbers, read model-year notes, and verify compatibility before ordering.
  • For safety-critical components, confirm specification and fitment carefully and have installation checked by a competent technician.

Browse by Category

If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.

Brakes — Brake components are renewed to restore stopping performance, address wear or upgrade a Porsche for fast road or track use. Common symptoms include vibration under braking, longer stopping distances, squealing, pulling to one side, warning lights and visible wear to discs and pads.

Brake Pad Wear Sensors — Brake pad wear sensors are replaced when pads are renewed or when warning lights indicate a broken or worn sensor. Symptoms include brake wear warnings even with new pads, damaged sensor cables, or broken clips around the caliper area.

Engine Electrical — Engine electrical parts are changed when there are starting, charging, ignition, or sensor-related faults that affect drivability and reliability, such as intermittent no-start, misfires, rough idle, poor charging, warning lights or heat-soak failures.

Service Parts — Service parts are replaced as routine maintenance to keep the engine and systems reliable, efficient, and protected, often resolving hard starting, rough idle, poor fuel economy and warning lights caused by clogged filters or worn ignition components.

Service Kits — Service kits bundle key service components to simplify maintenance and set the car back to a known baseline, especially useful when catching up on overdue servicing or dealing with general sluggish running, inconsistent idle and reduced performance.

  • For brake parts, confirm whether items are OE-equivalent replacements or performance upgrades and check if new fitting kits and sensors are required.
  • On service items and kits, match the kit to your exact Porsche model, engine and year, and review what is included so you can add any extra “while you are there” parts.

Suspension strut top mounting – Porsche 944 (1987–91) / 968 (1992–95)

Fits front axle, left or right side (price per unit) original-spec rubber/steel construction with built-in bearing Direct replacement for OE number 95134301831 (supersedes / cross-references 95134301830 and 95134301804)

This suspension strut top mount (also known as a strut bearing or top mount) sits at the top of the front shock absorber and bolts the strut assembly to the chassis. It isolates road noise and vibration, while the integrated bearing allows the strut to rotate smoothly as you steer.

Designed to OEM geometry, this mount restores proper ride height, steering precision and comfort on ageing 944/968 chassis.

Porsche 968 1992-95

Why these mounts should be replaced

On 30+ year-old 944 and 968 models, the original rubber and bearing in the top mount are usually well past their best:

Perished or cracked rubber – Heat, age and load cause the rubber to harden, crack and eventually separate from the metal plate. This allows excess movement at the top of the strut.

Worn or seized bearing – The bearing that lets the strut rotate with the steering can dry out or rust. This leads to heavy, notchy steering and spring “twang” noises when turning.

Collapsed mount – As the rubber collapses, the front of the car can sit lower on one side, and camber/caster angles go out of spec, hurting handling and tyre life.

Noise & vibration – Worn mounts commonly cause clunks over bumps, knocking when manoeuvring and increased vibration transmitted into the cabin.

Replacing tired original mounts with fresh units is one of the biggest improvements you can make to the ride quality, steering feel and front-end stability of a 944 or 968, especially when fitting new shocks or springs at the same time.

Manufactured to OE standards, it replicates the factory arrangement of rubber bonded bearing with correct internal race, outer shell and mounting surfaces. It restores proper strut behaviour, correct top mount geometry, quiet ride, and ensures long-term durability under road loads.

Position on Vehicle: Front suspension — strut top mount bearing (front shock absorber top)
Part Cross-References / Alternatives: OE number 944 343 071 01, supersedes 944 343 071 00.
Material & Construction: Rubber-bonded steel bearing and mount assembly, designed for vertical load, lateral motion and rotational movement of the strut; built to OE mount geometry to maintain alignment and suppress noise.

The strut mount bearing is a critical link in the front suspension system - it supports the shock absorber, handles steering loads, and ensures smooth motion of the strut top during articulation. If the mount is worn or the bearing seized, you may experience:
Excessive play or noise from the front suspension top area
Steering vibration or oscillation during turning
Misalignment of the strut assembly leading to uneven tyre wear
Reduced ride comfort and increased road harshness

Replacing with this correctly mount restores original mount geometry, eliminates play or noise and supports accurate alignment and handling.

When and why to replace:
The shock absorber top mount is creaking, knocking or making noise when steering or hitting bumps
Steering feels vague, the front feels loose or there is abnormal tyre wear
You are doing a front suspension rebuild or installing new shocks and want all mount components refreshed
The top mount rubber appears cracked, collapsed or the bearing shows rust / seizing

Clutch Release Bearing Guide Tube / Shaft (Guide Sleeve)
OE Match clutch release bearing guide tube (also referred to as a guide sleeve or clutch release bearing shaft) is designed to replicate the original Porsche factory component that guides and supports the clutch release (throw-out) bearing within the transmission assembly.

Fits:
Porsche 986 Boxster S 3.2L 2000 - 2004
Porsche 996 C2 / C4 / C4S 1998 - 2005
Porsche 997.1 C2 / C2S / C4 / C4S 2005 - 2008
Porsche 997.2   C2 / C2S / C4 / C4S 2009 - 2012
Porsche 991.1 Carrera 2012 -2016

Diagram ref no 7.

The clutch release bearing guide tube provides a precise sliding surface and alignment path for the clutch release (throw-out) bearing. By guiding the bearing smoothly along the transmission input shaft, it enables reliable clutch actuation, reduces wear on mating surfaces, and helps maintain consistent clutch pedal feel and engagement.

Function:
Installed inside the manual transmission bellhousing, this guide tube:
Guides and supports the clutch release bearing along the input shaft
•  Ensures proper alignment of clutch actuation components
Reduces friction and wear on the bearing and shaft surface
Provides stable operation across repeated clutch engagements
Proper guide tube performance is essential for reliable clutch engagement, reduced noise, and long-term drivetrain durability.

The clutch release bearing guide tube is a wear surface and alignment component that operates under repeated mechanical load each time the clutch is used. Over time, the original guide may wear, score, or distort, leading to misalignment, increased bearing wear, clutch chatter, or engagement issues. Replacing a worn tube with a high-quality OE Match guide tube restores proper bearing travel and alignment, helping preserve clutch life and ensuring smooth gear shifts.

When to replace:
During clutch replacement or transmission removal
When the original guide tube shows wear, scoring, or deformation
If the clutch release bearing shows uneven wear or binding
After transmission servicing or input-shaft work
Preventive refresh during high-mileage drivetrain overhaul
