- Porsche 993 (911) C4 1994-97
Diagram Ref No 14
What This Product Does:
- The shaft seal performs a critical function: it prevents the leakage of fluid (transmission fluid, gear oil or lubricant) from around a rotating shaft housing, while also preventing ingress of dirt, moisture or contaminants into the housing.
- In a gearbox or differential application for the 993/964, the seal ensures that the automatic transmission / differential assembly stays properly lubricated, maintains correct fluid levels and keeps contamination out.
- Proper sealing ensures reliable gearbox/differential life, prevents lubricant loss, avoids overheating or accelerated wear of internal components.
Symptoms & Signs Of Wear / When To Replace:
- Visible fluid leakage around the shaft housing area or gearbox/differential case: oil/gear-oil seeping or pooling near the area where the seal sits.
- Low gearbox or differential fluid level during inspections or the need to top up frequently — a worn seal may allow persistent leakage.
- Unusual noise or vibration from the differential/gearbox area — due to lubricant loss or contamination ingress causing increased wear.
- Cracked, hardened or damaged seal lip if visible during inspection (though many seals are internal). Age-related hardening or swelling of the seal material is a concern.
- When doing major transmission/differential service: If disassembling gearbox or differential and replacing bearings, shafts, etc., it’s often prudent to replace the seal at the same time due to age or service life.
- Preserves gearbox/differential reliability: A faulty seal can cause lubricant loss and subsequent damage to bearings, gears or internal components; preventing this saves major repair cost.
- Prevents contamination: Preventing ingress of dirt, water or foreign material through a bad seal protects internal mechanical precision and longevity.
- Pre-emptive maintenance: On older vehicles, seals degrade with age, heat and time. Replacing a suspect seal while condition allows can avoid a catastrophic failure down the line.

Diagram Ref No 4
What This Product Does:
- This part is the gearshift knob/lever — the interface in the driver cabin that you grip to change gears (manual transmission) or operate a shift lever (depending on variant).
- The knob/lever plays both a functional role (giving you the correct grip, feel and linkage to the gearbox) and a cosmetic role (it contributes to the interior look and premium feel).
- By being finished in Alcantara, the knob offers improved tactile feel, less slipperiness, and a more upscale, sporty aesthetic compared to standard all-plastic knobs.
Signs You Might Want To Replace It:
- The existing knob is worn, faded, torn or damaged — particularly the finish may be peeling, the Alcantara may be worn smooth or the underlying structure may be loose.
- The knob feels slippery or worn out, meaning your grip or shifting feel isn’t as crisp as when new.
- You are performing an interior refresh or want to upgrade the feel/appearance of your car’s cockpit — especially if you have Alcantara trim elsewhere and want the knob to match.
- The knob doesn’t align with your vehicle’s aesthetic (for example you’re running a sport interior with Alcantara and the original knob is plain plastic).
Why Replacement Matters:
- Improved feel & driver connection: A well-made knob in Alcantara provides better tactile feedback and grip — subtle but meaningful if you spend a lot of time in the car or shift often.
- Interior cohesion & aesthetics: On high-end vehicles like those from Porsche, the quality of the interior detail matters. Matching materials (Alcantara) elevate the look and feel and support the premium character.
- OEM fitment & value: Genuine part ensures correct dimensions, proper fit, secure mounting, and alignment with vehicle interior design.

Restore the integrity of your brake hydraulics with this genuine OEM rigid brake line for the Porsche 911 (996 Carrera/Carrera 4) models. This high-quality rigid steel line forms part of the front section brake-line circuit (often associated with the ABS/ modulator unit) and ensures optimal brake fluid delivery, pressure stability and system reliability.
Fits:
- Porsche 996 C2 3.4L 1999
- Porsche 996 C4 3.4L 1999
Diagram Ref No 6
What This Product Does:
- This brake line carries hydraulic brake fluid under high pressure from the brake master cylinder or hydraulic/ABS unit to the front brakes (or to the relevant section identified) in the braking system.
- Because it is a rigid line (usually steel or lacquered steel), it provides a fixed, stable conduit for fluid, resists expansion and maintains proper pedal feel and brake response.
- In an ABS-equipped system, having correct brake line integrity is vital for the anti-lock system to sense and modulate pressure correctly. A damaged or corroded line can compromise braking or ABS functionality.
Symptoms & Signs Of Wear Or Failure:
- Visible damage or corrosion: Rusted, pitted or flared ends, cracks in the line or flaking coating that indicate structural weakness.
- Brake fluid leak: Any sign of fluid seepage, drips, dampness along the underside or around fittings — a failing rigid line can leak at the flare or crack.
- Soft brake pedal or spongy feel: While harder to detect with a rigid line, if that section is compromised or has internal blockage, pedal feel may degrade.
- ABS warning or braking inconsistency: If the ABS unit is unable to regulate pressure or if one circuit is compromised, you may see warning lights or uneven braking.
- During restoration or braking system overhaul: If other parts are being replaced (ABS unit, calipers, fluid), it’s good practice to replace brake lines that look old or suspect, especially for critical parts like rigid front lines.
- Safety & braking performance: The braking system is one of the most critical safety systems in the vehicle. A deteriorated brake line compromises braking response and could lead to failure.
- Brake pedal feel and response reliability: A properly installed, intact brake line ensures consistent pedal pressure and predictable braking — essential for the driver’s control.
- ABS & system integrity: In a system with ABS and hydraulic modulator units, all lines must be within specification for proper functioning. A damaged line in this circuit may compromise the system.

Restore the air-flow to your engine oil cooler with this genuine Porsche air duct. Designed for the Porsche 944 S2 (1989-91) with oil-cooler assembly, this duct channels fresh air into and out of the oil cooler core, ensuring effective oil-temperature control under load.
Fits:
- Porsche 944S2 3.0L 16V 1989-91
Diagram Ref No 1
What This Product Does:
- The oil cooler air duct is part of the engine’s oil-cooling / heat-exchange system. It channels ambient air into the oil-cooler core or directs heated air away from the cooler to help maintain optimum oil temperature.
- In the 944 S2 the engine is front-mounted and uses an oil cooler (in addition to the radiator) to help manage oil temperature. The duct ensures that sufficient fresh air flows through/around the oil cooler fins, and that hot air is removed efficiently.
- Proper operation of the duct helps the oil-cooler perform its job, thereby helping to keep engine oil at safe operating temperatures, protecting bearings, seals and prolonging engine life.
Symptoms & Signs of Wear / When To Replace:
- Visible damage, cracks or missing ducting around the oil cooler – if the duct is cracked, split or detached, air-flow may be reduced.
- Over-temperature of engine oil or higher than normal oil temps (especially under load or warm ambient conditions) — could indicate the oil cooler is not getting enough air due to duct failure.
- Reduced or blocked airflow in the front ventilation channel around the oil cooler (debris, lost mounting, broken duct).
- Increased oil cooler noise or rattles – if the duct is loose or broken, air turbulence or vibration may be noticeable.
- Signs of heat damage downstream of the cooler – e.g., heat-scorching, melted components, because hot air was not guided away properly.
- Ensures oil-cooler efficiency: Without the duct functioning correctly, the oil cooler may not receive enough fresh airflow or may overheat, which can degrade oil quality and accelerate wear.
- Protects engine reliability: Proper oil temperature helps protect engine bearings, seals and performance integrity — the duct contributes indirectly but significantly.

Upgrade or replace the high-pressure charge-air hose on your Porsche 911 (997-series) Turbo/GT2 with these genuine OEM components. The left/upper hose is Part 99711064403 and the right/upper one is Part 99711064503. These hoses carry compressed, cooled air from the intercooler outlet to the Y-pipe/intake manifold, ensuring your engine receives the designed boost volume. If you’ve experienced loss of power, hear hissing under load, or notice boost irregularities, these direct-fit Porsche parts restore the integrity of your forced induction system.
Fits:
- Porsche 997 MK1 TURBO 2007-09
- Porsche 997 MK1 GT2 2007-09
Diagram Ref No 4
What This Product Does:
- These hoses/pipes are part of the charge-air system (after the turbocharger) and connect components like the turbo(s) → intercooler(s) → intake manifold(s). They carry compressed air at elevated pressure and temperature.
- The purpose: When the turbo compresses intake air, it gets hot; after the intercooler it is cooled, then routed via these hoses to the engine. Secure, leak-free hoses ensure the engine receives correct volume and pressure of air.
- If the hose is compromised (e.g., leak, crack, split), then boost pressure drops, the engine may lose power, run richer/leaner, trigger fault codes, and the car’s performance degrades.
Symptoms & Signs You Might Need Replacement:
- Loss of boost / reduced power: If you’re not getting full boost, or turbo seems slower to build, a leak in this hose is a common fault.
- Hissing or whistling noise during acceleration (especially under load) — indicates air escaping from pressure side of the system.
- Check Engine Light / fault codes relating to boost pressure, turbocharger performance or intake air pressure.
- Visible damage or wear: cracks, splits, swelling, hose soft spots, or hose clamps loose or missing.
- Oil or dirt buildup around the hose connection points — may suggest a leaking pressure hose has allowed contaminants in.
- Restores correct performance: For a turbocharged 911, accurate boost pressure and charge-air delivery are critical for performance. A failing hose disrupts that.
- Prevents further damage: A leaking charge air hose can lead to incorrect air/fuel mixture, cause lean conditions, increase exhaust temps, or stress the turbo/intercooler system.
- Safety & drivability: A compromised hose might fail catastrophically under boost, leading to a sudden loss of power, which could be dangerous in certain driving conditions.

Diagram Ref No 5
What This Product Does:
- This water hose is part of the engine cooling system — it routes coolant between components of the cooling circuit (likely between the water pump / oil cooler / radiator or similar) doing a “3-way” path.
- It ensures coolant flows properly, helping regulate engine temperature, protect components from overheating, and maintain correct thermal management.
- Because modern Porsche engines operate with tight tolerances and high performance, correct hose routing, quality of hose material, and correct diameter are important to avoid flow restrictions, leaks or hose collapse.
Symptoms Of Wear / Damage / When To Replace:
- Visible cracking, bulging, swelling or hose softening at clamps or along the hose length — hose material degrades with heat, age and coolant exposure.
- Coolant leaks around the hose or hose clamps — signs of coolant around the hose, white or green crust, or low coolant level without obvious reason.
- Overheating or elevated engine temperatures — if a hose is degraded or collapsed, it can restrict flow and reduce cooling system efficiency.
- During engine work: If you’re already removing parts of the cooling system (water pump, oil cooler, hoses) and the hose looks old, it’s sensible to replace this unit to avoid future failure.
- Ensuring coolant integrity and flow: A failing hose can compromise coolant flow and temperature regulation, potentially leading to serious engine damage.
- Prevents unexpected breakdowns: Considering the cost of engine damage, or expenses related to overheating, replacing aged hoses is cost-effective preventive maintenance.
- Supports longevity and reliability: Especially in performance vehicles like Boxster/Cayman, cooling system maintenance matters for engine life, performance consistency and resale value.
- Saves labour in the long term: Since many cooling hoses are hidden or routed behind other components, replacing while you have access prevents having to revisit the job later.

Diagram Ref No 16
What This Product Does:
- The cable guide holder is a small but important bracket/guide piece that helps route, secure and align the shift-cable (or selector cable) linking the shift lever/console and the gearbox’s Tiptronic actuator.
- Proper alignment and secure routing of the shift cable is vital for smooth, accurate gear selections and the correct functioning of the Tiptronic automatic shift system. If the cable moves, binds or is mis-routed, the gearbox may fail to shift properly or may show incorrect positions.
- The guide ensures the cable sits correctly, doesn’t rub against other components, remains fixed in its correct path, and retains positional integrity over time.
Symptoms & Signs Of Wear / When To Replace:
- Unreliable gear selection or delay/shudder in Tiptronic shifts. If the shift cable is mis-routed or the guide broken, the shift linkage may not be precise.
- Loose cable mounting, excessive play or unusual noise coming from the gearbox shift area — indicating the guide might be cracked or missing.
- Visible damage, missing bracket, or parts out of place in the gearbox/shift cable area (often when inspecting the underside or shift linkage of the car).
- When performing gearbox service or replacing the shift-cable assembly: if the guide is worn, cracked or corroded it is often prudent to replace it to restore full linkage integrity.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Ensures accurate shifting: Even though it’s a small part, the cable guide contributes to precise gear shift linkage. A damaged or missing guide can degrade the driver’s experience and potentially the safety/operation of the gearbox.
- Prevents future wear: A mis-routed cable may rub or chafe on surrounding components leading to accelerated wear or eventual cable or bracket failure — replacing the guide avoids this.
- Cost-effective maintenance: If you’re already working on the tiptronic system (shifter, cable, valve body), replacing this guide is cheap and prevents the possibility of repeating jobs due to neglected small parts.

Diagram Ref No 5
What This Product Does:
- A radial shaft seal is used where a rotating shaft (such as a drive shaft, gearbox output, differential input, etc) passes through a housing. Its job is to maintain a tight seal between the shaft and housing to prevent fluid (oil, gear lube) leakage and prevent ingress of dirt, dust or moisture.
- In this particular application (Cayenne drive-train / transmission area) it ensures the correct lubrication stays in place around the rotating component and helps protect bearings and shafts from contamination.
- By maintaining correct sealing, it supports long-term drive-train integrity, reduces wear and prevents leakage that could lead to bigger mechanical failures.
Symptoms & Signs Of Wear / When To Replace:
- Fluid leaks around the shaft housing. For example oil or gear-oil visibly seeping / dripping from the area where the seal sits.
- Excessive play or noise in the drive-train or shaft area, which may indicate seal failure allowed contamination and led to bearing deterioration.
- Contamination or dirt ingress around the seal housing — if the seal lip has lost contact, dirt may be visible in the housing.
- Visible damage to the seal such as hardened rubber, cracked lip, missing spring, or nicks in the sealing surface.
- When servicing the shaft or housing area: if the seal is disturbing or old (many years/mi), replacing it while the unit is accessible is often prudent.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Prevents major fluid loss: A failed seal may allow lubrication to escape which can lead to shaft bearing failure or gearbox/differential damage — replacing it is much cheaper than replacing major components.
- Protects internal components: A good seal keeps dust and moisture out, preserving bearings, splines, shafts and preventing accelerated wear.
- Maintains performance and reliability: When seals are intact the drive-train operates quietly, smoothly and with less maintenance concern.
- Maintenance and peace of mind: Especially for a high-end vehicle like a Cayenne, ensuring all seals are in good order supports confidence in long-term use and resale value.

- Porsche 957 Cayenne S/GTS 4.8L 2007-10
- Porsche 957 Cayenne Turbo / Turbo S 4.8L 2007-10
Diagram Ref No 22
What This Product Does:
- The switch is mounted in the hood latch area or hood hinge/lock assembly and serves to detect the position of the bonnet: closed or open. When the hood is closed properly, the switch is actuated (pressed) and sends a signal (to the vehicle’s body control module, instrument cluster, alarm system, etc).
- Its roles include enabling or disabling warning lights (e.g., “Hood open” indicator), interfacing with the alarm/immobiliser system (to detect unauthorised opening), or controlling internal functions like interior lighting, fusebox cover, etc.
- A correctly functioning micro-switch ensures that the vehicle knows the hood’s state, enabling proper safety, alarm and signalling behaviour.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- The instrument cluster shows a persistent “Hood open” warning when the bonnet is actually closed (false open indication).
- The hood needs to be slammed or adjusted so that it stops the warning light — meaning the switch may not be actuating correctly when the bonnet is closed.
- Alarm/door-lock systems behave incorrectly or trigger incorrectly due to hood-open signal malfunction (for example, alarm triggering when hood is closed).
- Physical damage to the switch: broken housing, corroded contacts, bent actuator plunger, or the part is worn, intermittent or stuck.
- During bonnet latch replacement, hinge repair or following an accident, the switch may have been damaged, mis-aligned or disconnected.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Safety & functionality: Because the hood-open signal is linked to vehicle safety systems (alarm, immobiliser, interior lights), a faulty switch can lead to wrong warnings, false alarms or safety system issues.
- Proper alarm/immobiliser operation: A working bonnet switch helps the vehicle detect unauthorised access under the hood — essential for security.
- Accurate indication: You want the “hood closed/open” indication to be correct — if not, you may drive with the bonnet not properly secured or you may ignore warnings thinking they’re false.

What This Product Does:
- The breather hose is part of the engine’s ventilation or crankcase/air-oil management system. In this case, it's described as being located at the top of the oil-cooler, which may mean it connects the crankcase ventilation or engine breather output back into the intake or another system.
- Its main function: to provide a path for gases (blow-by, vapor, pressure) from the engine or oil-cooler area back into the intake system or safe discharge path.
- The hose must withstand engine heat, pressure/vacuum cycles, vibrations, and exposure to oil or vapour, and provide a leak-free connection.
- Proper functioning helps maintain correct crankcase pressure, prevents undue pressure build-up or vacuum, helps control emissions, keeps the oil cooler circuit operating correctly, and ensures the engine’s ventilation system does not allow unintended air or oil vapour to escape or enter in the wrong way.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Oil vapour or smell around the engine compartment, especially near the oil cooler area or hose routing, indicating leakage of crankcase gases.
- Visible cracks, splits, brittleness, or hose collapse — old hoses can harden, crack or collapse internally causing blockage or leakage.
- Unusual engine behaviour: e.g., increased oil consumption, engine smoking slightly, or unusual intake/vacuum behaviour — if ventilation is compromised.
- Check engine or emission warnings: A compromised breather hose may lead to induction of unmetered air or vapours, affecting engine management.
- Oil cooler area contamination: Because the hose is described as located at the top of the oil cooler, if oil or vapour-contaminated deposits are visible there, the hose may be failing.
- Maintains correct engine ventilation: A good breather hose ensures proper crankcase/ventilation flow, and prevents pressure build-up or vacuum conditions that can lead to leaks or part failures (seals, gaskets).
- Protects the oil-cooler circuit and engine components: Because this hose is located at the oil-cooler top, replacing it helps ensure the oil cooler and associated hoses remain uncontaminated by vapour or oil mist escaping via degraded hoses.
- Improves reliability: Since these hoses are subject to heat, pressure and ageing, replacing them proactively avoids sudden failure, which could leave the car stranded or cause engine issues.

What This Product Does:
- The actuator button/lever is the user-interface element on the seat that allows you to release and fold the rear portion of the seat back (or fold the seat backrest forward) so you can access the rear compartment or improve cargo access.
- When you press or actuate it, it triggers the internal latch mechanism in the seat backrest — allowing the backrest to pivot or fold.
- Because it’s styled in Galvano Silver, it also contributes to the interior finish of the seat side panel/trim, so it’s both functional and cosmetic.
- A proper ergonomic and tactile button means the folding backrest function works smoothly, the lever retains feel & finish, and the seat looks as the manufacturer intended.
Symptoms & Signs of Wear / When To Replace:
- The folding backrest function is hard to engage or the lever feels sloppy, wobbly or loose — indicating the mechanism or mounting is worn.
- The finish or surface of the button is scratched, faded, or damaged (especially with the Galvano Silver finish) and the interior aesthetic is compromised.
- The button/lever is missing or cracked, or the surrounding trim is broken — compromising both function and appearance.
- The backrest mechanism doesn’t release properly — sometimes the button might actuate but the latch doesn’t respond because the lever or pivot is worn.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Functionality: The folding backrest feature is convenient for access or for increased cargo flexibility. A faulty button/lever can degrade that convenience.
- Quality and Finish: For premium vehicles like the Porsche 911/Cayman, every interior detail matters. Having the correct Galvano Silver finish lever maintains the high-quality look and value.
- Prevents bigger issues: If the lever is worn or loose, it may accelerate wear on the latch mechanism, the fold hinge, or cause misalignment of the seat back which may lead to squeaks, rattles or safety issues.

288 - Headlamp Washer
Diagram Ref No 5
What This Product Does:
- The washer hose connector links the washer fluid hose to either the headlight washer nozzle (pop-up or non-pop-up) or to the supply line, ensuring the washer fluid is delivered to the headlight washer jets.
- It must maintain a secure, leak-free connection under vibration, thermal cycling and pressure when the washer system is activated.
- Ensures that when you trigger the headlight washers (e.g., press the button or activate with wipers), the fluid flows correctly to clean the headlight lens as intended.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Washer fluid leaking around the headlight washer nozzle or downstream of it — often a sign the connector is damaged or the hose isn’t secured properly.
- Headlight washer jets not functioning, or fluid not reaching the headlight nozzles despite the pump activating. This may indicate a broken or disconnected connector.
- Hose detachment: a hose might have pulled out of the connector, or the clip/insert may be damaged, causing the hose to pop off under pressure.
- Visible damage or corrosion: the connector or its mounting might show cracks, deformation, corrosion or missing clip.
- Reduced headlight washer performance: e.g., weak spray, intermittent spray, or only one side works — could be the connector on the non-working side.
- Restoring full functionality: If the headlight washer system fails, headlight lenses may get dirty (especially in winter/snow/salt conditions) reducing visibility and compromising safety.
- Preventing further leakage: A failed connector may lead to fluid leaks which can drop onto tyres or bodywork, or lead to corrosion of nearby components.
- Ensuring correct fit & finish: Using the correct Porsche-specified connector ensures the hose and nozzle interface is correct and the system remains reliable.

What This Product Does:
- Protection: Shields the inner wheel arch, suspension components, wiring, and bodywork from debris, mud, water spray, stones and grime kicked up by the front wheels.
- Acoustic and Cleanliness: Helps keep the arch area quieter (reducing wheel-well noise) and cleaner by providing a barrier rather than leaving components exposed.
- Finish & Fitment: Ensures that the bodywork has correct finishing inside the arch; if the liner is missing or damaged, the arch area looks incomplete, components are exposed and corrosion risk is higher.
- Visible damage or missing liner inside the front wheel arch: e.g., split or cracked plastic, detachment, missing fasteners, or the liner entirely absent.
- Excessive dirt, debris or corrosion inside the wheel arch or on inner body panels — if the liner is compromised, the arch is less protected.
- Unusual wheel-arch noise or increased road noise: If the liner is loose or missing, suspension components may be exposed and road spray or debris may enter areas that were previously shielded.
- Wear from age: These liners may become brittle, cracked or partially detached with age, particularly on cars used in regions with road salt or heavy use.
- Component protection: Replacing a damaged liner protects suspension, brake lines, wiring and body panels from damage and corrosion.
- Vehicle integrity and value: For premium or collector cars like the 911, original-fit liners help maintain appearance, fitment completeness and resale value.
- Finish and appearance: Ensures that the wheel arch area looks correct, aligns with bodywork, and the interior of the arch isn’t exposed.
- Noise/Vibration: Proper liners help reduce ingress of road spray, minimise wheel-well noise and contribute to a refined driving experience.
- Preventative maintenance: Installing a new liner before serious damage occurs is cheaper than dealing with rust, debris-damage or incorrect suspension component exposure later.

What This Product Does:
- The centre undertray (or belly pan) is a large panel mounted underneath the vehicle, typically in the under-body centre section. Its functions include:
- Noise/Vibration/Harshness) reduction: by covering the underbody it helps reduce road noise and wind noise in the cabin.
- Aerodynamic improvement and underbody protection: providing a smoother underside, it helps reduce drag and aids airflow beneath the vehicle.
- Protection of vital components: the undertray shields components on the underside from road debris, water spray, and minor impacts (curbs, debris) that might otherwise damage suspension, exhaust, plumbing.
- In effect, it is a functional body-panel that sits beneath the car’s mid/centre section, helping the car perform better, stay quieter and better protected.
Symptoms & Signs You May Need Replacement:
- Visible damage, cracks, missing sections or broken fasteners — due to scuffs against curbs, underbody impacts, or age-related degradation.
- Underbody noise increase or vibration — if the undertray is loose, missing or damaged the underbody acoustic performance may suffer.
- Increased drag or wind noise — if the panel is warped or detached in spots, you may notice more wind howl or lowered top-speed performance (especially in performance cars).
- Exposure of components — if you see components normally covered (e.g., plumbing, wiring, underside of the engine/transmission) then the undertray may be missing or removed.
- Improves drivability & comfort: A sound underbody panel improves the feel inside the cabin, reducing wind/road noise and helping the car feel more refined.
- Maintains aerodynamic efficiency: Especially on high-performance Porsche models, having the underbody panel in place helps maintain the designed airflow and downforce characteristics.
- Protects underbody equipment: Without the undertray you risk stone strikes, water spray and debris hitting vulnerable components (fuel lines, oil lines, exhaust) directly.
- Avoids costly damage: A thrown stone or curb contact could damage a part that otherwise the undertray shielded; replacing soon means fewer downstream issues.

What This Product Does:
- As a high-pressure / pressure line, it carries refrigerant under high pressure from the A/C compressor to the condenser or from the condenser onward in the refrigeration cycle.
- It must withstand elevated pressures (hundreds of psi depending on system), high temperatures, thermal cycling, vibration, and hold a leak-tight seal under service conditions.
- A correct pressure line ensures the A/C system maintains proper pressures (both high side and low side), operates efficiently, delivers cold air and prevents refrigerant loss.
- If this line is compromised (leak, collapse, corrosion) the A/C system may lose refrigerant, pressure drop, reduced cooling or fail to function.
Symptoms Of Wear, Damage Or Need For Replacement:
- A/C cooling performance drops sharply — e.g., the system does not achieve low cabin temperatures, or takes much longer than expected. A leak in the high-pressure side is a common culprit.
- Visible damage to the line — cracks, corrosion, brittleness, fractured fittings, or evidence of oil or refrigerant residue around the pipe or its fittings (oil stain often indicates refrigerant leak).
- Hiss or bubbling noise near the A/C piping/hoses, particularly after the compressor runs, as refrigerant escapes.
- Low refrigerant charge or repeated recharging required — if you find the system needs frequent top-ups, the pressure line might be leaking.
- On inspection — The hose or rigid pipe section is degraded, the O-rings at the fittings are worn, or the mounting clips/brackets are missing, causing undue movement/vibration.
Why Replacement Matters:
- System efficiency & comfort: A faulty high-pressure line compromises the A/C system, reducing cooling comfort, increasing cabin temperature and putting strain on the compressor.
- Preventing further damage: Leaks in this line allow ingress or egress of refrigerant and lubricant, risking damage to the compressor, condenser, drier, or causing contamination. Replacing a damaged line is much cheaper than replacing major A/C components.
- Maintains system integrity: Using the correct Porsche-specified line ensures correct fit, correct diameter, correct pressure rating and correct routing — generic hoses may not meet the high-pressure or corrosion-resistance requirements.
- Safety & environmental responsibility: Refrigerants are under high pressure and treatment of leaks is a regulatory / environmental issue; ensuring the line is sound prevents uncontrolled release.
