A Quick Look at OE Match
OE Match information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.
Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche
Where OE Match is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.
- Often chosen when owners want OE-equivalent quality with sensible running costs, especially for routine service and wear items.
- Typical reasons to replace include restoring reliability, addressing age-related wear, or refreshing multiple components during larger repair work.
- Common defects from incorrect application include noise, premature wear, leaks, or fitment quirks if the wrong variant is selected or fitted with old seals/hardware.
- Watch for symptoms such as unusual noises, early wear, or repeat failures after recent work, which can indicate mismatched parts or supporting items left worn.
- Always cross-check OEM part numbers, read model-year notes, and verify compatibility before ordering.
- For safety-critical components, confirm specification and fitment carefully and have installation checked by a competent technician.
Browse by Category
If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.
Brakes — Brake components are renewed to restore stopping performance, address wear or upgrade a Porsche for fast road or track use. Common symptoms include vibration under braking, longer stopping distances, squealing, pulling to one side, warning lights and visible wear to discs and pads.
Brake Pad Wear Sensors — Brake pad wear sensors are replaced when pads are renewed or when warning lights indicate a broken or worn sensor. Symptoms include brake wear warnings even with new pads, damaged sensor cables, or broken clips around the caliper area.
Engine Electrical — Engine electrical parts are changed when there are starting, charging, ignition, or sensor-related faults that affect drivability and reliability, such as intermittent no-start, misfires, rough idle, poor charging, warning lights or heat-soak failures.
Service Parts — Service parts are replaced as routine maintenance to keep the engine and systems reliable, efficient, and protected, often resolving hard starting, rough idle, poor fuel economy and warning lights caused by clogged filters or worn ignition components.
Service Kits — Service kits bundle key service components to simplify maintenance and set the car back to a known baseline, especially useful when catching up on overdue servicing or dealing with general sluggish running, inconsistent idle and reduced performance.
- For brake parts, confirm whether items are OE-equivalent replacements or performance upgrades and check if new fitting kits and sensors are required.
- On service items and kits, match the kit to your exact Porsche model, engine and year, and review what is included so you can add any extra “while you are there” parts.

This tensioner (or idler) pulley is designed for Porsche 911 (996/997) and Boxster/Cayman vehicles. It supports the serpentine/drive belt system, ensuring smooth, stable rotation and correct belt alignment. It helps maintain proper tension, reduces noise, and protects engine accessories from excessive stress. Built to original Porsche standards and engineered for precise fitment and durability.
Fits:
Porsche 996 Carrera 3.4L / 3.6L 1997-05 6-speed Manual transmission
Porsche 997.1 Carrera 3.6L / 3.8L 2005-08 Manual transmission

Ideal replacement when the original pulley shows signs of wear, bearing noise, belt misalignment or visible belt damage - restoring accessory-drive reliability and avoiding secondary damage from belt failure.
The idler pulley plays a critical role in your accessory belt drive, maintaining the correct path and tension of the belt that powers many engine-mounted systems. When the pulley bearing deteriorates, or the surface becomes worn or grooved, the belt can slip, make noise, or even break—potentially causing loss of alternator, AC compressor or power-steering function. By replacing this component proactively with a quality OE-Match unit, you safeguard those systems and maintain proper engine accessory operation.
When and why to replace:
• Audible bearing noise or rumble coming from the pulley/belt area.
• Visible belt wear, glazing, fraying or mis-tracking across the pulley surface.
• Occasional belt slippage or accessory drive belt squeal on start-up or load.
• Accessory drive servicing (belt replacement, tensioner replacement) where it makes sense to fit the pulley at the same time.
• Higher-mileage vehicle where original pulley may have been in service for many years and bears may be near end-of-life.

The AOS is basically a small diaphragm distillery which distills the minute amounts of oil mist in the crankcase, liquifies it and sends it back to the crankcase. The "clean" air is now sent into the air intake (after the throttle body) to be burned off by the engine.
When the AOS starts to fail it cannot separate all of the oil out of the mist and some liquid oil is sent to the air intake.
A few drops of oil is enough to generate the GREAT SMOKE BOMB for which our cars are famous for.
A big smoke bomb once in a while is completely normal, due to the architecture of the flat-6 engine, which may let a drop of oil flow into one of the combustion chambers sporadically.

The oil cooler gasket kit is engineered to reseal the engine oil cooler housing and thermostat/oil-filter adapter on Porsche 924S, 944 (1982-1991) and 968 (1992-1995) models (and compatible variants). This kit includes all necessary gaskets, O-rings, and seals required to rebuild or reseal the oil-to-water cooler assembly and related thermostat/oil-filter housing interface, restoring proper sealing integrity and preventing oil or coolant leaks.
Fits:
Porsche 924S 1986 - 1988
Porsche 944 1982 - 1991
Porsche 968 1992 - 1995
The oil cooler (or heat-exchanger) is vital to maintain correct oil temperature, especially under load or high revs. The gaskets and seals that form part of this assembly are wear items - over time they can harden, shrink or degrade, leading to leaks.
If a seal fails, you may experience:
• Engine oil leaks under the vehicle or at the cooler housing.
• Oil contamination of coolant (or coolant contamination of oil) - often mistaken for a blown head gasket.
• Loss of oil pressure or reduction in cooling efficiency, potentially leading to overheating or accelerated engine wear.
• Unpleasant oil smell in engine bay, smoke if oil drips onto hot exhaust, and increased fire risk in severe cases.
Using this gasket kit ensures that the cooler housing is sealed properly, restores reliability and safeguards the engine’s lubrication and cooling integrity - a relatively low-cost preventative maintenance step with high payoff for longevity and safety.

Fits:
Porsche 911 1970 - 1989

Porsche 993 1994 - 1997
Diagram ref no 28 or 29
• Position on Vehicle: Mounted in the door jamb, boot (trunk) lid, engine-lid or other body‐panel opening where it triggers the courtesy lamp or door-open warning system.
• Applications: Ideal replacement when the original switch fails (interior lights don’t work, door-open indicator stuck, boot light not responding), or when restoring the vehicle’s body electrical system to original specification.
A functioning door/boot contact switch is vital for correct interior lighting, warning chimes, door ajar indicators and overall vehicle convenience. A defective switch can lead to interior lamps being permanently off/on, battery drain, or door-open warnings not working. Replacing a switch restores correct electrical behaviour, safeguards against unintended battery drain and maintains the vehicle’s original functionality.
When and why to replace:
• Door or boot interior lamp does not activate when opening the panel.
• Battery drains overnight and circuits point to faulty door-open logic.
• During door/boot panel removal or wiring work where switch is disturbed or lost.
• On older vehicles where original switches may have aged or internal contacts have degraded.

Common Signs of Door Seal Failure
• Cracks or tears: Continuous exposure to weather and repeated door use can cause the rubber to dry out and crack.
• Shrinkage or compression: Temperature changes may cause the seal to shrink or lose shape, creating small gaps that reduce its sealing ability.
• Water leaks or wind noise: A damaged or worn seal can lead to water seeping into the cabin during rain or increased wind noise while driving at higher speeds.
